When it stays there, it will not cause any harm at all. However, it will be harmful and cause cellulitis if it reaches deeper skin surfaces. The bacteria enter the deeper skin layers through cuts and wounds that do not get treated properly. Hence, there is a need for proper skin and wound care if you wish to stop the cellulitis disease process.
